About Us...
Troop 725 is a group of young men, adult leaders, committee members and parents whose goals are to enjoy the adventures of the scouting program, while fulfilling the aims of helping boys develop into honorable men. Our troop was recognized as one of the top scouting units in the country and council earning the Gold Journey to Excellence award.
The mission statement of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young men to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The troop was founded in 2001 is chartered by the Wm Martin VFW Post 725 in Mokena and meets every Wed at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
At least once a month the troop goes on weekend camp outs at sites throughout the Midwest and day trips for hikes, bike riding, canoeing and general outdoor fun. Yearly the troop attends summer camp at Owasippe in Whitehall MI or Rainbow Scout Reservation in Morris IL. As often as possible the older scouts participate in High Adventure experiences at exciting locations like SeaBase in the Florida Keys and Philmont Scout Ranch in the mountains of New Mexico. Come join us and learn what the scouting experience can bring to you.
